WHAT IS SMA?
The Student Marketing Association is SFU’s creative and innovative marketing-based student organization. Our focus is to bring together like-minded individuals who are interested in exploring the different areas of marketing and are seeking to gain experience and skills. Through a variety of programs and events, SFU SMA offers practical learning and leadership opportunities.
The Corporate Relations Coordinator is an individual who is motivated to learn and act on follow-up protocols, networking, cold calling, and negotiation. This role will focus on making connections in pursuit of sponsorship and effectively communicating with professionals.
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for brainstorming, creating, planning, and executing online and in person SMA events to promote community, teamwork, and morale within the Student Marketing Association.
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, curating and developing content for SMA’s numerous social media outlets. Coordinators will schedule social media campaigns, explore creative content ideas, and maintain a cohesive brand while ensuring a constant online presence.
As a Design Coordinator, you’ll be assisting in the creation of all SMA graphics, videos, marketing material and brand assets. We are looking for designers that are eager to take their designs outside of a classroom environment into a real- world context.
The Human Resources Coordinator will assist with recruitment cycles and help plan orientation events. They are responsible for maintaining SMA’s culture through planning socials and team-bonding initiatives.
The Finance & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective administrative and accounting routines. The successful applicant will be comfortable using Excel to record expenses and to best estimate budgets. You will take responsibility for administrating financial projects and be able to work well with others.
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, curating and developing content for SMA REACH social media outlets such as Instagram and LinkedIn. The coordinator will schedule social media campaigns, explore creative content ideas, and maintain a cohesive brand while ensuring a constant online presence.
The Business Development Coordinator will be working alongside the Vice Presidents of Business Development to assist in the organization and planning process of the REACH Marketing Development Program. This is an opportunity to gain experience in project management and event (workshop) planning and execution.
The Lead Logistics Coordinator enjoys planning events and has an eye for detail. They are responsible for organizing and executing the logistics plan for Brandstorm, including program planning, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
The Lead External Relations Coordinator enjoys developing and maintaining professional relationships. They are responsible for communicating with secured clients and judges about event-day activities.
The Lead Design Coordinator has a creative eye for design. If you enjoy experimenting with different ideas, can produce final products that are out of the box, and understand marketing, this is the perfect position for you.
